HOW TO PLAY

Three rules. One hidden picture.

Open every cube that is not a bomb. The numbers tell you where the bombs are, and every board can be solved with logic alone.

01

Numbers count bombs

A number shows how many of the 8 cubes around it hide a bomb.

02

Flag what you can prove

Long-press, right-click or use flag mode to mark a bomb. Tap a number with all its flags to open the rest.

03

Uncover the picture

Every safe cube shows its true color. Clear the board and the whole picture lights up.

NEW TO MINESWEEPER?

Start here.

Five habits that turn random clicking into calm logic.

  1. 01
    Tap anywhere first

In Pixel Bomb your first tap is always safe and opens an area to work from.

  2. 02
    Count all 8 neighbors

Diagonals count too. A cube on an edge has only 5 neighbors and a corner only 3, the place where most counting mistakes happen.

  3. 03
    Start with the easy numbers

Look for a number that touches as many hidden cubes as its value, or one that already has all its flags.

  4. 04
Flag only what you can prove

A wrong flag misleads every number around it. If a flag is wrong, the hint removes it first.

  5. 05
    Stuck? Look somewhere else

Another edge of the board often has an easy move. Still stuck? A hint shows the next move and the numbers that prove it.

Six patterns that solve most boards

  • Beginner

    Count the hidden cubes

If a number touches exactly as many hidden cubes as its value, all of them are bombs.

  • Beginner

    Satisfied numbers

If a number already has all its flags, every other cube around it is safe. Tap the number to open them all at once.

  • Beginner

    The 1-1 pattern

Two 1s side by side at a wall share the same bomb, so the cube beyond the second 1 is safe.

  • Advanced

    The 1-2 pattern

Next to a 1, a 2 needs one extra bomb, and it can only be the cube beyond.

  • Advanced

    The 1-2-1 pattern

The bombs sit next to the 1s. The cube in the middle, next to the 2, is safe.

  • Advanced

    The 1-2-2-1 pattern

The two bombs sit next to the 2s. The cubes next to the 1s are safe.

ALREADY A VETERAN?

Play faster and cleaner.

Habits of fast players, adapted to Pixel Bomb.

  1. 01
    Subtract your flags

A 3 with one flag next to it works like a 2. Reduce the numbers and the patterns above appear again.

  2. 02
    Chord instead of tapping

Tap a number whose flags are complete and all its other neighbors open at once.

  3. 03
    Flag only when it pays

A flag is worth placing when it lets you chord. Otherwise just open the safe cubes.

  4. 04
    Use the bomb counter

In the endgame compare the bombs left with the hidden cubes. It often decides the last corner.

  5. 05
    There are no 50/50s

Every Pixel Bomb board can be solved with logic. If it looks like a coin flip, a number somewhere else or the bomb counter decides it.

Pixel Bomb FAQ

What is Pixel Bomb?

Pixel Bomb is a minesweeper puzzle game by Luma Play. Every safe cube you open shows its color, and a cleared board reveals a hidden pixel-art picture.

How do you play Pixel Bomb?

Tap a cube to open it. A number shows how many of its 8 neighbors hide a bomb. Flag the bombs you can prove and open every other cube to finish the picture.

Do I ever have to guess?

No. Every board is generated so it can be solved with logic alone, and your first tap always opens a safe area.

Is Pixel Bomb free?

Yes. Pixel Bomb is free to play with ads. An optional in-app purchase removes the ads.

Where can I play Pixel Bomb?

On Google Play for Android, on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and in your web browser on Playgama with no download.

Yes. A number counts all 8 cubes around it: above, below, left, right and the four diagonals. Cubes on an edge have 5 neighbors and corner cubes have 3.

What if it looks like I have to guess?

In Pixel Bomb you never have to. Check the bomb counter and the numbers on the other side of the hidden area, or use a hint: it highlights the numbers that prove the next move.
